A lot has changed in the last few weeks due to COVID. I hope everyone is staying healthy and sane during this time of uncertainty. Please know that your family’s health and well being is at the utmost importance to me. That being said, it’s still killing me on the inside that I can’t photograph all your beautiful babies as they are being born. I’ve gotten so many emails and messages from clients and know that if I could, I would photograph your babies for you, but it’s just not possible at this time.
Please know that there will come a time (hopefully sooner rather then later) that I will be able to photograph your newborn! And know that you are in good hands. I have LOTS of experience photographing older newborns.
Typically, I like to photograph newborns within the first 14 days of life. This allows for those sleepy naked images. But there is so much more to each session then those images. When I photograph older newborn those images are not always possible (but sometimes they still are!). Instead we focus on wrapped baby images. Normally with older newborns we get lots of open eyes and fun expressions – so cute! Older newborns typically have better eye contact, full of expressions, and sometimes even a little more hair. Yes – your session will be a little different if we are photographing an older newborn but you will still love and cherish these images just as much.
Here are a few examples of older newborns in the studio.
These images are still perfect in every way, even though the babies are a little older!
Another option for older newborns is an in-home lifestyle newborn session. For these sessions it really doesn’t matter at all how old the baby is. We just keep the little one wrapped up for the entire session and he/she can sleep or not sleep. These sessions make for stunning images no matter the age of the baby.
My heart is breaking that I don’t get to see all of you in the studio every day! I miss my newborn cuddles!! But your family’s health and safety (especially with a new baby at home) is at the upmost importance. Please know that when we do photograph your new baby the images will reflect this time in their life and still be cherished for a lifetime to come.
I hope to see you and your family (with baby in tow) very soon in the studio or at your home. Feel free to reach out if you are looking for an Indianapolis photographer during this time. Stay safe everyone.
