I started off being a boy mom. It scared me at first. I was a little sad when I found out we were having a boy. I only ever had one sister and most of my cousins are also girls. I thought that I didn’t know how to raise a boy. But the truth is, you figure it out! And boys really aren’t much different then girls. I’ve now been blessed with both a boy and a girl. Sometimes my son loves the “girly” things more than my daughter. I’ll forever be grateful for my son and all the joy and blessings he brings to our lives daily. And my daughter doesn’t know how good she has it to have such a great big brother!
Now the Mama from this session is one of my favorites! She rocks the whole boy mom thing! Her boys are so sweet, kind, and loving. They are always a joy to photograph. And I’ve been photographing them a lot since they were all born. If you look though my portfolio you might see these guys a few different times. They are always so natural in font of the camera. I always look forward to seeing everyone in this family. Their new addition is no exception. He rocked his studio newborn session with lots of smiles, a full head of hair, sleeping the whole session and this two loving brothers by his side for the whole session.
It doesn’t matter if you have 13 boys or none. I would love to photograph your family in whatever stage you happen to be in. Doing Indianapolis newborn photography is my favorite! But I do also offer family photography for all stages of your family’s lives. Let me know if you would love your family photographed and we will get a session date on the calendar.
You never know what you are going to get out of a two year old. They can be scared or hesitant of me (a stranger), straight up defiant, tearful, or bouncing off the wall crazy. Their reactions can vary from moment to moment and they can have all these reactions during one session. Anyone who has had a two year old knows that you just don’t know what you are going to get sometimes.
The good news is, I have lots of tools in my tool box for all the crazy reactions that toddlers can send my way. My years in college working at a preschool prepared me for just this! The even better news is that I didn’t have to use any of these tricks for this beautiful big sister! She was as sweet as could be and loved her newborn sister. She enjoyed having her picture taken and being the center of attention. She was also a cute as could be. What more could I ask for?! I know – a cooperative newborn. Guess what?! We had that too! This was a sweet session all around (so was their maternity session) and I’m excited to watch this adorable family grow for years to come.
This little lady’s sweet mama really wanted soft colors (my favorite!). So that’s what we did – lots of white on white, soft pinks (to match her nursery) in both wraps and flowers, and soft purples. We also did lots of macro shots (close ups of baby’s features). For macro shots I typically give these to the clients in both color and black and white. However, I’m personally always drawn to the black and white version of these images. Check out the last few images for examples of this.
Such a sweet session! If you are looking for an Zionsville newborn photographer don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know!
It’s always a joy to have a Dant baby in the studio! This handsome little blue eyed baby was as happy as could be to have all the attention on his first birthday. The theme for his cake smash session was little red truck with lots of evergreens to go along. This was a new theme, and I’m obsessed. I just loved everything about this session- the theme, the coordinating outfits, the wonderful smiles- all of it!
I would love to photograph your little one on their first birthday or your family at whatever stage of life you are in! If you are interested in learning more about me as an Indianapolis photographer please let me know! I would love to meet you.
This session was rescheduled more times then I can count due to weather. It was at least 4 times, but could have been more. The weather just couldn’t decide what it wanted to do. On the day of this session the expecting mama was determined we were going to make it work this time as long as it wasn’t actively raining. Her due date was looming closer and closer. The weather wasn’t ideal. It was super overcast and looked like it could start raining at any moment. However, the rain never came and the sunset was stunning! We got a purple sunset that was like no other. I’m so glad these two moved forward with their maternity session on this overcast day.
What a great maternity session for a fantastic couple. I can’t wait to photograph that cute little baby!

This sweet birthday boy had all his surfing dreams come true. He was a happy little camper for his 1st birthday cake smash session in the studio. The theme was surfing and we went all out with blue and teal balloons, surf board, water creatures, and lights. And I’m just obsessed with his perfect hair do as well!
If you have a little one that is going to be turning one soon don’t hesitate to reach out I would love to schedule a 1st birthday cake smash session for your birthday baby. Let me know if you are looking for an Indianapolis photographer.
I love downtown Zionsville for so many reasons. It’s minutes from my home so we spend a lot of time there. We love the restaurants, the festivals, shopping, and the farmers market. There is so much to do and it’s normally a pretty quiet area. It’s also so stinking adorable. The area has so much character with it’s brick streets, older architecture, and colorful storefronts.
Just a 2 minute car ride down the street from downtown Zionsville is an adorable little park as well. It’s called Creekside Nature Park. It’s a great contrast to the urban setting and helps round out the client’s gallery by giving it a little diversity. The park isn’t huge, but it’s got great lighting and lots of all grass. In the warmer months it also has some lovely greenery and trees.
When these long time clients of mine asked to do their maternity photography session in downtown Zionsville I was thrilled. In the winter time urban settings are best (since the more rustic settings just look a little dead). So this was the perfect spot for them! The city was all decked out for the holidays which we used to our advantage. It helped that this mama also had a green dress to go with the holiday theme.
Sessions with toddlers are always sweet. This little big-brother-to be was excited to play which was just what we need for some adorable pictures of him. He had fun running around, touching his mama’s belly, and being tossed around by his dad.
Such a fun little holiday themed maternity session in downtown Zionsville!

I loved spending time with this beautiful family! We dodged some crazy weather for this session and I’m still not sure how we got so lucky. It ended up being a lovely session with a happy baby girl. I was glad to get to see this family again to celebrate their sweet little girl’s first birthday as well. I remember her newborn session, too!
What a wonderful family and a wonderful session!
