Ryder Birth Photography – IU North Hospital in Carmel, Indiana

This is the birth story of baby Ryder. I had the joy of photographing baby Ryder’s sister in the studio when she was born (I wasn’t offering birth photography at that time). So it was a joy to be able to watch this family grow and to share these intimate moments with the family. Ryder came into this world as perfect as could be and his mom made it look easy and beautiful!

Timing worked out perfectly, and I was able to capture  the siblings meeting for the first time. This moment was adorable and priceless! hospital

Adeline – Birth Photographer in Indianapolis, Indiana

Sweet Adeline was my 2nd newborn born within 24 hours. Lucky for me, there was no overlap and both mom’s were in the same hospital. This has never happened to me before, but it was one adrenaline filled day for me and I loved every moment of it!

Here are a few fun facts about the birth:

  • Adeline was born on one of the unseasonably beautiful February days we have been having in Indianapolis. It also happened to be my husband’s birthday.
  • Adeline’s parents were wedding clients of mine a few years ago. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to build relationships with clients and follow them though all their milestones! So being able to capture the birth of this little girl was so special!
  • Mom had to be induced, and she did fantastic. When it came time to push, baby was out within minutes!! I’ve never seen a baby come so fast.
  • Baby had a rock star birth team which included a doula, nurse, and (most importantly) dad.
  • Mom and baby are healthy and happy. I’ve already had them in the studio for their newborn pictures. Stay tuned for those!!

Indianapolis Birth Photography – Zoey

This was by far the most emotional birth I’ve ever photographed. Zoey’s mom was amazing. She labored with baby Zoey for hours at home. When she got the the hospital she was already 8 cm (that means I had to get to the hospital QUICK!) and she had no idea. She continued to labor at the hospital and never had an epiderial. She was one strong mom.

This family had been praying for this baby for a long time. And the love and desire for this baby was apparent in the room. Zoey’s Dad, Grandma, and Aunt (birth coach) were all in the room for the delivery. These people, including the star of the show – Mom, made for an amazing birth team. This whole process was a joy to photograph.

Liam’s Birth Story – Indianapolis Birth Photography

I just LOVE birth photography. Every birth that I photograph is so much different from the last one but each one never ceases to amaze me – I mean really jaw drop amaze me! This birth was no exception!!

These parents had to wait a long time before they were able to get pregnant with baby Liam. So they were over the moon once they found out they were pregnant! With the pregnancy announcement also came Liam’s diagnosis of cleft lip. These amazing parents did everything they could for little Liam while they waited for him to arrive including doing lots of research, meetings with teams of doctors, and loving their baby just the way he was.

This little guy’s mom was induced. While the beginning of labor was slow (progressing from 2 cm to 7 cm) the rest of the labor was really fast! Note the picture down a bit of the nurse with a panicked look on her face – this is what happens when baby is virtually crowing and the doctor can’t be found! Mom pushed a total of two times before baby Liam was born.

Liam is a BEAUTIFUL baby. Yes, he does have a cleft lip, but that feature just makes him who he is! Stay tuned for Liam’s in-studio newborn pictures. I just loved cuddling this sweet little guy.
