I just LOVE birth photography. Every birth that I photograph is so much different from the last one but each one never ceases to amaze me – I mean really jaw drop amaze me! This birth was no exception!!
These parents had to wait a long time before they were able to get pregnant with baby Liam. So they were over the moon once they found out they were pregnant! With the pregnancy announcement also came Liam’s diagnosis of cleft lip. These amazing parents did everything they could for little Liam while they waited for him to arrive including doing lots of research, meetings with teams of doctors, and loving their baby just the way he was.
This little guy’s mom was induced. While the beginning of labor was slow (progressing from 2 cm to 7 cm) the rest of the labor was really fast! Note the picture down a bit of the nurse with a panicked look on her face – this is what happens when baby is virtually crowing and the doctor can’t be found! Mom pushed a total of two times before baby Liam was born.
Liam is a BEAUTIFUL baby. Yes, he does have a cleft lip, but that feature just makes him who he is! Stay tuned for Liam’s in-studio newborn pictures. I just loved cuddling this sweet little guy.
It was a joy to be able to watch this wonderful family grow in front of my eyes. Welcome to the world, Liam!
