I want to start this post off by saying THANK YOU to each and every one of my clients. This has been a great year for me both personally and professionally. I am no longer suffering from lack of sleep from having a newborn in the house and I feel like while I grow as a photographer during every session I finally have a sense of confidence that each session will be different and better then the last. I adore being able to capture this time in your lives. I appreciate that you trust in me to do this for you! Please know that I adore watching your family grow and I hope to continue to work with you and your family for many years to come. This year include 229 sessions (whoa!) and each and every one was special to me! Thank you – thank you – thank you!
15. Many Milestone Memories – 32 Studio Milestone Sessions
One thing that I adore about my job is getting to meet new clients and then being able to watch those children and families grow. Most of these milestone sessions below started in my studio as a newborn client. I just love watching little babies grow into toddles and then families growing from one to two + kiddos. So much fun! 14. Big Beautiful Baby Bumps – 13 Bumps Captured
One of the most beautiful things about having a baby is being pregnant. I think being pregnant is stunning on every woman and I just adore capturing this time in the lives of parents.
13. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana
Big Brothers Big Sisters has played a huge role in my life and I believe I’ve had an impact on my ‘little sister’ too. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve volunteered with BBBS for the last 8 years. I’ve been matched with the same little sister the whole time. Well this year was an INCREDIBLE year for me because my little sister graduated from high school and started college!!! These is a huge feat for her and I couldn’t be prouder!!! This year, BBBS also asked me to do a shoot for them to use for promotional material. I was honored to be able to do this for them! If you are looking to give back in 2018 (and beyond) you should seriously check out BBBS program in Indianapolis. It’s an incredible organization making a difference in the lives of so many children.
12. I started offering video.
I’ve dabbled in videos for a few years now. However, this year I finally took the leap and started offering it as a product. Can I tell you how much I love these videos?! They tell a story even more than pictures alone. Right now I offer video as an add-on for birth, Fresh 48, and cake smash sessions. I really could write a whole blog post about these videos (if only there were more hours in the day!). For now, you can check out some of the videos below:

10. Messy Munchkins – 28 Cake Smash Session
There is no better way to celebrate a 1st birthday then with a cake smash session! I love creating these custom sets for each baby that comes to the studio. There were so many fun themes this year… we had everything from Cookie Monster to Christmas Elves and everything in between.

I feel this one deserves a call-out of it’s own because MY little munchkin turned one! I had a lot of fun with his cake smash session to match his nursery theme. You can see the whole session here. The behind the scenes video for this session (at the end of the post) is comical. Only the photographer’s kid would make me work this hard.

5. First comes love then come MARRIAGE
In this season of my life I’ve found that I needed to significantly cut back on the number of weddings that I shoot each year. This year I held my ground, and only shot 6 wedding and it was AMAZING! I feel like the weddings that I did shoot were a good fit for me and I was able to spend the time needed to give each couple the dedicated, personalized time they deserved from a wedding photographer. It was a great wedding season and I can’t wait until next year. So let me know if you need an Indianapolis wedding photographer. I’m still only taking on a very limited number of weddings in 2018. I want to make sure that every couple I work with is a good fit (both ways) and that I can give them the time they need and deserve!
