2013 has been a great year – both personally and professionally. Before I talk about all the fun things going on around here I want to send a heartfelt thank you to all of my clients. None of this would have been possible without each and everyone of you. I’m truly blessed to be doing what I love and getting to meet and work with so many amazing families. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your business, support, and kind words.
So here we go: 12 Highlights for KristeenMarie Photography in 2013. Let’s start with #12…
12 – Fun with Families – In 2013 I had the opportunity to do 37 child and family sessions. This includes all of my first year “Grow with Me” clients. I love all of my clients, but the “Grow with Me” clients have a very special place in my heart. There is something so fun about being able to watch and capture kids growing. I look forward to meeting new families in 2014 so please reach out if you are looking for an Indianapolis family photographer!
11 – Corporate Photography Fun – In 2013 I did 5 corporate photography sessions. But beyond that I started offering a fun new type of corporate photography – lifestyle headshots. It’s a headshot, but it’s taken in your natural environment (not in front of a solid backdrop) to better tell your story. I’m super excited to do more of these sessions in 2014. 10- Engaged! – I had 19 engagement sessions in 2013. Each session was different and unique to match each couple’s personality.
9 – Beautiful Baby Bellies – In 2013 I had the wonderful opportunity to do 8 maternity sessions. Look at all those beautiful baby bellies. These little kiddos were all deeply loved before they were even born. If you are having a baby in 2014 be sure to schedule your Indianapolis maternity photography session!
8 – A Love of Learning – I’ve learned and grown so much in the last year as a photographer. In part that was due to two workshops I took this year. One was with Jessica Vaughn Photography and the other with Jen Sherrick Photography. Both of these business owners we great to work with and helped me learn and grow in my photography journey.
7 – Who says you can’t have your cake and eat it too?! These kids sure did. – First birthday cake smash sessions are a blast. I take great pride in designing custom backdrops for each child’s birthday theme or color scheme. The set-ups have become more and more elaborate. I now even work with a local cake designer to design cakes to match the set-ups. I hope to do even more of these in 2014 so let me know if you would like to book a Indianapolis cake smash session.
6 – New Branding – Back in April I updated my logo, watermark and website.
5 – A Proposal – This isn’t the only proposal that I captured, but it’s the only one this year I had the opportunity to photograph. There is something so very special about having this moment captured on camera! There is so much love and emotion. This couple was so very sweet too. Now I can’t wait for their wedding. I feel as if I’m following along on their journey.
4 – A little less traditional but no less special – This year I photographed my first same sex couples.
Kris and Nick were a BLAST to work with. They were full of energy and personality. I’m super excited for their wedding!
A few weeks after I did the above engagement session I also had the opportunity to work with these three lovely ladies. <3
3 – Here Comes the Bride – In 2013 I had the opportunity to photograph 10 weddings. It’s was such a joy to be able to capture and tell the love story for all of these lovely people.
2 – Newborn Babies: And Lots of Them! – I love all the different types of photography that I do – weddings, engagements, families, etc. However if I had to pick a very favorite it would be newborn photography. So to tell you that I photographed 40 newborn babies in 2013 makes me very happy! There is no such thing as too many newborns sessions so if you or someone you know is expecting and looking to do newborn photography in Westfield be sure to reach out!
1 – The Studio – While there was a ton that has happened in 2013 my favorite would have to be my studio! The studio is on the ground level of my home (but it has direct access to the outside so clients aren’t in my living space). I LOVE my studio. It makes newborn sessions so much easier and so far my clients I’ve had in the studio have loved it too.
And as a bonus. In case you missed it, I thought I would share with you my biggest personal highlight from the year. I’m engaged (to the man of my dreams – Drew) and I have a sweet puppy (Rosie).
