2025 was a great year, but a busy one. Every year, I sit down and write this post, and it brings me a lot of joy. It gives me space to pause. I look at the data, update my website, and think through how I want to move forward.
So, here are the highlights from 2025.
1. 58 beautiful babies
As an Indianapolis newborn photographer, newborn sessions are the root of my business. They are often the beginning of long relationships with families. This is where my heart stays. I love the slower pace of these sessions and the trust parents place in me during such an early season.
2. 117 family sessions
As an Indianapolis family photographer, watching families grow over time is the best part of my job. Over half of these sessions were with returning clients. Seeing familiar faces year after year means everything to me. I also love meeting new families and hope they feel at home here.
3. Grow With Me clients
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Grow With Me clients have my heart. Seeing babies every four to six months is such a gift. I get to watch them grow from tiny newborns into busy toddlers. The albums from these sessions are some of my favorite keepsakes to create.
4. 31 cake smash sessions
Cake smash sessions are a lot of work, but always worth it. Every setup was custom for the client. Backdrops, colors, and cakes were designed around their theme. Messy, fun, and full of personality.
5. Visiting lots of Indianapolis Hospitals
I love Fresh 48 sessions. Watching siblings meet for the first time never gets old. Watching the glow of a first time mom hold her baby that she worked so hard for is priceless! I also quietly offer free sessions to past clients who experience an extended hospital stay in the NICU. These sessions matter deeply to me, and I’m honored to be there.
6. More in-home newborn sessions
This year, more clients than ever chose in-home newborn sessions. Newborn photography continues to move in a more natural direction, and homes lend themselves beautifully to that style. I love photographing families in their own space. It gives me a deeper look at their personalities and day-to-day life. These images often feel especially meaningful because they’re created in a place that already holds so much significance.
6. My first podcast feature
This wasn’t on my list for the year, but it happened. Being featured on a photography podcast pushed me outside my comfort zone. I’m glad I said yes. Interested? You can listen here.
7. Mini sessions were a big hit
Mini sessions were very popular this year. Some families booked multiple sessions throughout the year. I offered spring, creekside, wildflower, sunflower, fall, and tree farm minis. Every set sold out quickly. These sessions move fast, but they’re a fun way to keep photos updated through the seasons. If you want a mini next year, being on my email list is key. Subscribers always hear first.
8. A wide range of families
One thing that matters deeply to me is who walks through my doors. I work with families from many backgrounds, including same-sex couples, families of different ethnicities, and families with a wide range of incomes and life experiences. I also work with families of many faiths, as well as families with no religious beliefs at all. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and respected here. I want my studio to be a safe place for all families. I love meeting people who live differently than I do, and those relationships are one of the best parts of this work.
9. Beautiful Baby Bumps
I love photographing maternity sessions. It’s another chance to connect with my clients and help them get comfortable in front of the camera before baby arrives. As an Indianapolis maternity photographer, I photographed several maternity sessions this year, and I would love to see even more in 2026.
A note to my clients…
To my clients, thank you. Thank you for coming back year after year. Thank you for trusting me with your babies, your families, and your milestones. Thank you for choosing me and for sharing your lives with me. I’m incredibly grateful, and I don’t take any of it lightly.
