Excuse me while I get all sappy on you. This morning I took my little man to the apple orchard – Stuckey’s Farm in Sheridan to be exact. We went with a friend of mine and her son who is a few years older than Jack. The boys get along great even though there is an age gap. Jack’s big-kid-friend shows him the ropes and how to do all the cool big-kid things like picking apples and going down giant slides.
Jack loved running around the farm apple in hand. After picking his first apple I had to convince him to let me hold the apple so that he could pick others. He really preferred eating apples to picking them. He took that apple everywhere on the farm with him including all the way down the huge slide (I didn’t even think to get a picture of that). What a fun afternoon. It’s moments like these that I want to remember for a lifetime because I know he is already getting too big too fast.
The thing I love most about this picture is that we didn’t even ask them to hold hands… they just did it. Those little hands just melt my heart.
At the end of the trip the boys enjoyed apple slushes while watching the construction equipment (they were repaving the road).
I really was there too. So glad my girlfriend snapped a picture of me too (thanks Kim!).
I hope you have time to make memories with your little ones this summer! Don’t forget to take a few pictures along the way.
