Bringing your dog to your newborn photography session can be a wonderful way to capture your entire family. But, it’s important to consider a few things first.

As we wrap up 2024, I just want to take a moment to thank all of my amazing clients for making this year so wonderful. Your trust in me to capture your most precious moments means the world. As an Indianapolis photographer, it’s been such a privilege to watch your families grow, capture milestones, and create lasting memories together.

I recently had the joy of capturing a sweet newborn session featuring an adorable baby girl, her proud parents, and her doting big sister. Sessions like these remind me why I love what I do!

When it comes to newborn photos, less is more—especially when it comes to outfits. The truth is, newborns often swim in traditional clothing, and it’s usually unflattering in photos. You want to see your little one, not an oversized outfit swallowing them up!

The family’s beloved dog joined us for this session, making it extra special. Including pets in sessions is always fun, and this pup did a great job! We captured sibling-style shots with the dog and even included the whole family for a few beautiful portraits. It’s clear this little girl is so loved by everyone, including her furry sibling.

Every family is different, and I always make sure to customize sessions to match each family’s unique style. This session was all about simplicity, connection, and love. It was such an honor to capture these moments for this sweet family.

In those early days, babies are naturally sleepy and love being swaddled up, making it the perfect time for those adorable, squishy poses. Their flexibility and sleepiness allow for those cozy, curled-up positions we all adore. The images in this post are all from a baby who was 10 days old. These moments pass quickly, and these photos are a wonderful way to capture them forever.
