I had the joy of photographing a newborn session for my neighbors. Their new baby girl is as sweet as they come. Since I see this family almost every day, documenting this chapter felt extra special.
I walked in and the older kids were ready. They know me well, so things moved fast. That comfort makes a big difference during newborn sessions. Kids relax. Parents relax. And I can capture simple moments that feel honest. As an Indianapolis newborn photographer, I see how much ease matters in sessions like this.
The oldest sister is close with my daughter Brynn, which adds a fun layer to their story. I’ve watched those two grow up side by side. So seeing her step into the big sister role again was a sweet moment to catch on camera.
Baby girl slept, stretched, and soaked up all the attention. I kept the session slow and calm. That pace lets me follow the rhythm of the day instead of forcing poses. It always leads to natural images that families love.
Photographing neighbors is one of my favorite parts of working as an Indianapolis newborn photographer. I get to watch their kids grow and then hand them images that will matter for years. It’s a pretty great perk of doing what I do right here in Zionsville.
