It’s not every day I get to photograph an actual proposal. So when I do, I know it’s going to be good.
When this sweet groom-to-be reached out to hire me as his Indianapolis proposal photographer, I was all in. He wanted something close to home. Meaningful. Thoughtful. He chose to plan his proposal at the Indianapolis Art Center in Broad Ripple.
What none of us expected was the timing.
That evening marked the very beginning of a major snowstorm in Indianapolis. Not the wild part. Not yet. Just enough to dust the ground and send soft flakes floating down around us.
It was cold. It was quiet. And it was perfect.
He led her outside while I stayed back and kept my distance. Then he dropped to one knee. Snow falling. Lights glowing. Her shock. It was one of those moments you simply can’t plan.
Thankfully, the storm held off long enough for us to capture everything safely. After the big moment, we stepped indoors near some beautiful artwork and grabbed a few extra portraits of this newly engaged couple. Warm. Cozy. Glowing.
They were the kindest pair. So genuine. So full of joy. You could see how much they adore each other.
By the time we wrapped up, the snow was coming down harder. We all made it home safe and warm before the real storm hit.
If you’re looking for an Indianapolis proposal photographer who can help you plan and capture a once-in-a-lifetime moment, I would love to help make it happen.
