Here is a fun fact about me… I love plants! I love collecting them and I have a few dozen in my office on an a-frame in front of a large picture window. Most of the plants happen to be succulents. I’ve had a number of non-succulent plants but they tend to die. Succulents are low maintenance and can tolerate me forgetting to water them every now and then.
When this client told me they wanted a succulent themed cake smash session I was super excited! The plants you see in this backdrop are almost all real (I threw in a few artificial ones just to fill it in a little) and are from my office collection. I really loved turning my plants into a backdrop and now I think I need to do it for a newborn too!
While the plants in the backdrop are real, the plants on the cake are frosting. Class Cakes knocked this cake out of the park with the realistic looking succulents on the cake. This little birthday boy had fun picking off (and eating) all the little succulent pieces too.
Over all, this session was so fun, cute, and messy. Everyone had a good time here.
