I first photographed these sweet twin girls when they were teeny tiny newborns. Their last session with me was their cake smash for their first birthday. Hard to believe that was nearly a decade ago!
Fast forward to now—they’re 10 years old, full of personality, and their mom decided it was time for updated family pictures. I’m so glad she did. We met at Coxhall Gardens and the blooms were lovely, making the perfect backdrop for this family.
As a Zionsville family photographer, I’m often known as the baby whisperer or toddler talker. And while that’s true, I also love working with big kids. Tweens especially are so much fun—they have personalities all their own, and I love showing that off in photos.
Yes, I can be silly and animated with a two-year-old. But I can also be calm, engaging, and inviting with a tween, teen, or even adult children. Every age brings something special, and I enjoy photographing them all.
If it’s been a while since your last family session, especially if your kids are past the toddler stage, now is the perfect time. As an Indianapolis photographer, I can tell you—tweens change so quickly, and these in-between years are just as important to capture.
