You never know what you are going to get out of a two year old. They can be scared or hesitant of me (a stranger), straight up defiant, tearful, or bouncing off the wall crazy. Their reactions can vary from moment to moment and they can have all these reactions during one session. Anyone who has had a two year old knows that you just don’t know what you are going to get sometimes.
The good news is, I have lots of tools in my tool box for all the crazy reactions that toddlers can send my way. My years in college working at a preschool prepared me for just this! The even better news is that I didn’t have to use any of these tricks for this beautiful big sister! She was as sweet as could be and loved her newborn sister. She enjoyed having her picture taken and being the center of attention. She was also a cute as could be. What more could I ask for?! I know – a cooperative newborn. Guess what?! We had that too! This was a sweet session all around (so was their maternity session) and I’m excited to watch this adorable family grow for years to come.
This little lady’s sweet mama really wanted soft colors (my favorite!). So that’s what we did – lots of white on white, soft pinks (to match her nursery) in both wraps and flowers, and soft purples. We also did lots of macro shots (close ups of baby’s features). For macro shots I typically give these to the clients in both color and black and white. However, I’m personally always drawn to the black and white version of these images. Check out the last few images for examples of this.
Such a sweet session! If you are looking for an Zionsville newborn photographer don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know!
