Senior Sunday with Someone Extra Special

When your goddaughter is about to graduate high school, you take her senior pictures. No question.

This session was such a special one for me. I have watched Molly grow up, so getting to photograph her senior portraits felt like such a full-circle moment. I’m not sure how we got here so fast, but here she is, stepping into her next chapter with confidence and so much heart.

I’m also including a throwback from her baptism because it feels too sweet not to share. There I am, holding this tiny baby in a white dress. And now, somehow, I’m photographing her senior pictures.

Time is rude like that.

Before she was a senior, she was a baby

For her senior session, we chose a location with lots of variety. The garden gave us soft light, flowers, greenery, stone details, and a beautiful bridge. Then, the brick and wood textures added a little more depth and personality to her gallery. It ended up being the perfect mix for her.

She brought two simple outfits, and both photographed beautifully. Her white top with jeans felt classic and relaxed, while the floral skirt added movement and a softer look. I always love when senior sessions have variety because it helps the final gallery feel more personal.

Molly is stunning, inside and out. She is strong, capable, loyal, and she knows how to get what she wants. That combination is going to take her far. More than anything, I’m just so proud of the young woman she has become.

Senior pictures are more than pretty portraits. They mark such a big transition. One season is ending, and another one is starting. For parents, these images can feel like a deep breath because your baby is almost grown. For seniors, it is a chance to be seen exactly as they are right now.

While I’m mostly known as an Indianapolis newborn and family photographer, I always love photographing seniors when the session has a personal connection. This session was relaxed, beautiful, and full of little moments that felt like her.

I’m so proud of this girl, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Love you, sweet girl.

Happy Senior Sunday.
