Bringing your dog to your newborn photography session can be a wonderful way to capture your entire family. But, it’s important to consider a few things first.
1. Should You Bring Your Dog?
You know your dog best. Does your pup sit and stay on command? Is your dog non-aggressive? Are you comfortable with your baby and dog being close during the session? If you answered yes to these questions, bringing your dog could be a great idea!
2. Timing Is Everything
We’ll start the session with family pictures, including shots of your dog and baby together. After we get those key shots, it’s best to have someone take your dog home. This keeps the rest of the session calm and quiet, allowing us to focus on your newborn.
3. The Magic of Photoshop
Did you know that not all dog and baby shots are captured in real life? Photoshop can work wonders. Sometimes, it’s safer and easier to photograph them separately and then combine the images. This way, we ensure everyone stays safe, and the results are just as stunning.
4. Let Me Know in Advance
If you’re planning to bring your dog, please let me know ahead of time. You’ll receive a questionnaire before your newborn session—this is the perfect place to mention your plans. This helps me prepare and ensure we get the best possible shots.
Including your dog in your newborn session can be a fun and meaningful experience. With a bit of planning, we’ll create beautiful images that include all the special members of your family!
