First-time parents—I see you. You’re running on little sleep, your body just went through something major, and now you’re showing up for pictures?
That’s a lot.
But I promise, this session will feel like a deep breath. As an experienced Indianapolis newborn photographer, I’ve created a studio experience that’s calm, easy, and baby-led.
Here’s what you need to know before your newborn session:
1. I’ll send you a full prep guide.
No guessing, no stress. You’ll get a detailed guide with what to bring, how to prepare, and what to expect.
2. Feed baby once you arrive.
You don’t need to time a feeding at home. Once you’re here, I’ll have you feed baby so we can start with a full, happy tummy.
3. Baby is in charge.
We follow baby’s cues. If baby wants to eat, we stop. If baby needs to be held, we adjust. No rushing, ever.
4. Don’t bring outfits.
I don’t recommend clothes for newborns. Instead, I use wraps and gentle posing to keep things simple and timeless. Naked and wrapped images are best at this age.
5. I’ll tailor the session to your style.
Before your session, I’ll send over a questionnaire. You can tell me what colors and props you like, and what matters most to you.
6. You get to relax.
Once you walk in the door, your job is done. I’ll handle everything. You can rest, snack, or even nap if you want.
You just brought a whole new person into the world. You deserve to rest and be taken care of.
If you’re looking for an Indianapolis or Zionsville newborn photographer who’s worked with hundreds of first-time parents, I’d love to connect. I only take a limited number of newborns each month, so reach out early to reserve your spot.
