There is just something special about flower field sessions.
The color. The warmth. The way kids run through the rows. The way everything feels a little more like summer.
This year, I’m offering wildflower and sunflower pictures at three different locations around the Indianapolis area. Each location has its own look, bloom timing, and personality. So, if you’re dreaming of flower field pictures this year, here are your options. This is the perfect time of year to update your family pictures and I would be honored to be your Indianapolis family photographer.
Dull’s Tree Farm Wildflower Field
Dull’s Tree Farm has been one of my favorite flower field locations for years. The field is beautiful, open, and full of color when the blooms are at their best.
This year, Dull’s has pushed their growing season back. They are expecting blooms in late August and early September.
So, if you love the look of this location, this will be more of a late summer flower session.

Anne Marie’s Flower Farm in Zionsville
This is a new flower location for me this year, and I’m excited to offer it.
Anne Marie’s Flower Farm is in Zionsville, which makes it a great option for families in Zionsville, Carmel, Westfield, Whitestown, and nearby areas.
The good news is that this location is likely closer than Dull’s for many of my clients. They expect blooms to start in July, with sunflowers in August.
This location has smaller sunflowers, so it will have a little bit of a different look than a giant sunflower field. It should be beautiful, colorful, and fun for family pictures.

Spencer’s Sunflower Field
Spencer’s Sunflower Field is another beautiful option.
This field has the big, classic sunflowers. However, the bloom window is short. Usually, there are only about 10 days when the field is at its best.
The timing changes every year. In the past, the sunflowers have bloomed anywhere from mid-July into mid-August.
Because the window is so short, I keep a list of families who are interested. Once I have a better idea of bloom timing, I’ll reach out with available dates.

Full Sessions or Mini Sessions
Clients are welcome to book either a full session or a mini session at any of these flower field locations.
Mini sessions are a great fit if you want something short and simple. They work well for quick family updates, milestone pictures, or a few beautiful images in the flowers.
Full sessions are a better fit if you want more time, more variety, and a slower pace. They are also great for families with young kids who need time to warm up.

Which Flower Field Is Best for Your Family?
If you want an earlier summer session, Anne Marie’s Flower Farm or Spencer’s Sunflower Field will likely be the best fit.
If you want late summer wildflowers, Dull’s Tree Farm is a beautiful option.

Flower field sessions are always a little dependent on Mother Nature. But when everything lines up, they are so worth it.
