Milestone sessions are an exciting way to capture your baby’s growth throughout their first year. They can be booked as a one-off session or as part of a “Grow with Me” package. The most common milestones are at 4 months (when babies can hold their heads up), 7 months (when they sit up solidly on their own), and the 1st birthday cake smash. Each session highlights your baby’s unique development and creates beautiful memories.
There are two types of milestone sessions. In-studio sessions and outdoor session.
In-Studio Milestone Sessions
In-studio milestone sessions offer a lot of variety while keeping things simple. During a full session, we typically use 3-4 different outfits. I have a wide selection of rompers and diaper covers you can use, or you’re welcome to bring your own outfits or props that hold special meaning. The focus is mostly on your baby, but we can include one family setup during the session as well.
These sessions are typically scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the daytime. The studio allows for controlled lighting and quick outfit changes, giving us flexibility and comfort.
Outdoor Milestone Sessions
If you’re part of a Grow with Me package, you can upgrade any milestone session to an outdoor session for an additional $150. These outdoor sessions are available from May through September, and they focus more on the family as a whole. It’s important for parents to participate in these sessions since they create beautiful, natural moments between you and your baby.
Outdoor sessions are held at sunrise or an hour before sunset to take advantage of the best natural light. With the beauty of nature as your backdrop, these sessions feel more relaxed and candid but are weather-dependent.
Choosing between an in-studio or outdoor milestone session depends on the type of images you’re hoping to capture.
