This fall family session in Carmel, IN, was everything you could want for a perfect evening. We had gorgeous golden light, a crisp autumn breeze, and one very energetic toddler!
Toddlers make sessions unpredictable—and that’s exactly why I love photographing them. They don’t fake anything. When you see a big smile or hear a belly laugh, you know it’s 100% real. This sweet girl gave us plenty of both! She explored, played, and kept her parents on their toes the entire time. Her joy was contagious, and it shone through in every shot.
The final gallery ended up being huge—over 90 images! That’s how much fun we had together. I couldn’t stop clicking as the love and connection between this family came to life in front of my camera.
Now, I know scheduling sessions at sunrise or right before sunset can seem daunting, especially with toddlers. You might worry about them being sleepy or cranky. But don’t worry—I’ve done this hundreds of times, and I’ve got plenty of tricks to keep little ones happy and engaged. Sometimes, the best moments come when you just let them be themselves.
