Wow, what a year it’s been! As I look back on 2024, I’m filled with gratitude for the families, newborns, and little ones who’ve stepped in front of my camera. You’ve made this year unforgettable. From sunrise outdoor sessions to cozy studio moments, each shoot has been a highlight in its own way.
I’ve had the honor of capturing milestones, growing families, and once-in-a-lifetime moments for so many of you. It’s because of your trust and support that I get to do what I love every day.
As I reflect on 2024 which included 267 sessions, I want to share seven highlights that stood out for me.
1 – Bring on the newborn babies.
This year, I photographed 85 newborns! While most clients chose to come to the studio for their Indianapolis newborn photography session, a few opted for in-home lifestyle sessions. Both options are beautiful and result in amazing images and cherished memories. I feel so much joy photographing each and every one of these precious babies.
2. A little something new – studio family sessions.
I haven’t actively advertised these, but I’ve been offering them to select clients when it makes sense. These are simple studio sessions designed to highlight clients and their personalities. They’re perfect for the winter months or for clients looking to try something different. I shoot exclusively on white, which makes the clients truly stand out! 3. So many beautiful families – 86 to be exact.
One of the greatest joys of my job as an Indianapolis family photographer is watching families grow year after year. Seeing newborns turn into toddlers, toddlers into big kids, and families expand is such a privilege. This year, I had the honor of photographing 86 families, many of whom I’ve worked with for years.
My favorite clients are the ones who come back every year, allowing me to capture their ever-changing story. It’s amazing to see kids’ personalities shine as they grow, and I love building relationships with families over time. Thank you for trusting me to document your most special moments—it means the world to me.
4. So many mini sessions!
You guys absolutely LOVE mini sessions, and I love offering them! Some of you even book 2-4 minis a year, which is such a fun way to keep updated images of your family throughout the seasons. Mini sessions are perfect for capturing those quick, seasonal moments that you’ll cherish forever.
This year, I offered the following mini sessions:
- Spring
- Creek Side
- Wildflower
- Sunflower
- Fall
- Tree Farm
I open booking for these a few months before each session takes place, and you never fail to amaze me—each type sold out within days! These minis are quick, easy, and packed with beautiful backdrops and happy moments.

5. So much cake – 38 sessions to be exact!
Cake smash sessions are always a highlight of my year, and this year I had the pleasure of photographing 38 of them! These sessions are a fantastic creative outlet for me, and I absolutely love designing each one to fit your style and preferences.
What I enjoy most is creating a completely custom experience for every family. You bring the outfit, and I’ll take care of the rest—designing a unique set, ordering a beautiful matching cake, and making sure everything flows smoothly from start to finish. Whether it’s a colorful, themed setup or something more classic, each session is one-of-a-kind.
Cake smashes can be booked as standalone sessions or as part of my popular Grow With Me package, where we capture milestones along the way. If you haven’t yet experienced the joy of a cake smash, I highly recommend it—there’s nothing like watching your little one dive into their cake and creating sweet memories along the way!
6. Enjoyed my time in the hospital photographing fresh babies!
As an Indianapolis Fresh 48 photographer, I absolutely adore capturing those first raw moments after birth. However, the reality is, I don’t get to spend as much time in the hospital as I’d like. Fresh 48 sessions are so special—capturing the unfiltered, real moments when you first meet your baby and start taking in all the tiny details.
There’s something incredibly moving about documenting the early hours of a baby’s life. I love being there to capture the first snuggles, baby yawns, siblings meeting for the first time, and those sweet, intimate family moments.

7. Meeting all the milestones.
One of the things I love most about my job is building relationships with clients over their baby’s first year. There’s something so special about getting to know a family and watching their little one grow from a newborn into a curious toddler. To make sure I’m there for all those important moments, I offer Grow With Me packages that allow me to see families multiple times throughout the year.
These sessions are always filled with personality, energy, and surprises. It’s so fun to capture the ever-changing expressions, milestones, and stages as babies develop. Whether it’s their first smile, the excitement of crawling, or those wobbly first steps, each milestone is an opportunity to document something beautiful and unique.
I treasure these sessions, and I’m so grateful to be part of such a special time in your family’s journey. Watching a baby grow and capturing those precious changes is truly the best part of what I do.
