Photographing twins is a joyful challenge! Here’s a simple guide to help you prepare for a smooth session.
- Feeding and Sleep Prep:
- Feed Both Babies: A few hours before the session, feed them well.
- Keep Them Awake: Keep them awake for at least 2 hours (including the car ride).
- Tips: Give them a bath and let them kick around in just their diapers.
- Feed Again on Arrival: I’ll have you feed them again at the studio to keep them happy.
- Warm Studio:
- Temperature: The studio will be at least 80 degrees for their comfort.
- Dress Light: Wear comfortable, light clothing. You can change into your picture clothing when you get to the studio.
- Session Duration:
- Length: Sessions usually last 1.5 to 3 hours.
- Soothing: Be ready to nurse or bottle feed as needed.
- Extras: Bring extra formula and soothie pacifiers if you use them.
- Outfits:
- For Family Pictures: Soft, neutral colors and simple designs.
- For Moms: Loose tank tops with a coverup.
- For Dads: White or cream shirts.
- For Babies: No clothes needed.
- Who to Bring:
- Immediate Family Only: Just parents and siblings.
- Extra Help: Bring someone to take older siblings home after family pictures.
- Snacks and Meals:
- Eat Beforehand: Have a meal before the session.
- Bring Snacks: Feel free to bring snacks or a meal since sessions can be long.
- Punctuality:
- Be On Time: Try to be punctual, even though it’s challenging with twins.
- Scheduling: Other sessions are scheduled after yours, so timeliness is important.
- Questionnaire:
- Fill It Out: Complete the emailed questionnaire before your session. This will help me create a completely customized session for your new little ones.
