I often get asked:
“Can we schedule our newborn session date in advance?”
The answer—nope, and here’s why.
Birth Is Unpredictable
Even if you have a scheduled induction or C-section, things can change.
Inductions can take 6 hours… or 3 full days. Sometimes babies come earlier. Sometimes they take their sweet time. It’s just the nature of birth.
That’s why I don’t set a session date ahead of time. It’s better to wait.
What to Do Instead
Once your baby is born, just shoot me a quick email.
From there, I’ll send you a few available dates and times for your newborn session. You’ll choose what works best for your family.
It’s quick, easy, and gives you one less thing to worry about.
When I Like to Photograph Newborns
I aim to have babies in the studio within the first 12 days of life—as long as both baby and mom are doing well. During that time, babies are usually sleepier and easier to pose.
But here’s the good news:
If you can’t make it in during that window, don’t worry.
I’ve photographed babies at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, even older—and we still get great pictures every time.
A Stress-Free Process
My goal is to make the entire process easy and flexible.
You don’t need to stress about timing. I’ve built my schedule to leave space for these early-life sessions.
So when baby arrives, just let me know. I’ll take care of the rest!
