This recent maternity session was the perfect example. The textures of the brick alleyways and storefronts created a classic look that will never go out of style.
Why Downtown Zionsville Is Perfect for Maternity Photos
One of my favorite things about photographing maternity sessions in downtown Zionsville is how much variety we can capture within a very small area.

A Great Option for Winter and Early Spring Maternity Photos
Urban maternity sessions are especially helpful during winter and early spring.
During those months, many outdoor parks around Indianapolis have not turned green yet. Trees are bare and fields can look a little dull.
Downtown locations solve that problem beautifully.
As a Zionsville maternity photographer, I often recommend downtown Zionsville during these seasons because the architecture and textures provide visual interest year round. Brick buildings, alleyways, and historic storefronts create a warm and timeless setting even when nature is still waking up.
In this session, the golden evening light reflecting off the brick buildings created an incredible glow. The warm tones of the alleyways and string lights added so much atmosphere to the images.
Urban and Natural Looks in One Session
Another thing I loved about this maternity session was the variety we captured.
We started in the brick alleyways of downtown Zionsville, where the warm sunset light filtered through the buildings. The string lights and historic brick added a classic urban feel to the images.
Later in the session we moved to a nearby field just outside of town. As the sun dropped lower in the sky, the tall winter grass created a soft and natural look.
This combination gave the couple the best of both worlds.
