One of the most common questions I get from expecting parents is, “When will my newborn session actually happen?”
For newborn sessions, I do not schedule the exact date until after baby arrives.
I know that can feel a little strange. Especially if you like having everything planned ahead of time. But babies arrive on their own timeline. Even with scheduled inductions or c-sections, things can change.
Some babies come early. Some come late. Some families need a longer hospital stay. Some moms need a little more time to recover.
So instead of guessing, I build flexibility into my newborn calendar.
How Newborn Scheduling Works
When you book your newborn session, your spot is reserved based on your due date. Once baby arrives, send me a quick email.
Then I will send you available dates and times.
The sooner you tell me baby is here, the more choices I can usually give you. A simple “Baby is here!” email is perfect.
Why Booking During Pregnancy Still Matters
Even though we schedule the exact date after birth, booking early is still important.
I only take a limited number of newborn sessions each month. This allows me to adjust when babies arrive early, late, or right on time.
If you wait until after baby is born to reach out, I may not have availability.
Booking during pregnancy reserves your spot. Then, once baby arrives, we choose the best date for your family.
What If Baby Comes Early or Late?
No big deal.
If baby comes early, send me an email when you are ready. If baby comes late, your session is still planned. We are just waiting for baby.
Even if you have a scheduled induction or c-section, I still wait until after baby arrives to choose the session date. Birth plans can shift, and recovery can look different for every family.
